Today's Chuckle...

Okay so I haven't posted anything for a while, but when I got this e-mail for Lantz's mom today I just had to share it with everyone.

You are on a bus when you suddenly realize... you need to fart. The music is really loud, so you time your farts with the beat. After a couple of songs, you start to feel better as you approcah your stop. As you are leaving the bus, people are really staring you down, and that's when you remember: you've been listening to your ipod.

Hope everyone giggles and enjoys.

New Year's Eve...

This year for New Year's Eve we just had a small party at my parent's house. There was Lantz and I, my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, my sister Shelby and her friend J.J. and my adopted sister and Shelby's bff Kari. Lantz's parents were going to come as well but Lantz's dad was not feeling well. We did miss them. We also missed having the Martin's there (we didn't know that they had other friends). It was really fun. Lantz and I took our Wii Fit that Jace got for Christmas and played that with everyone. It was hilarious! Two of the funniest things I have seen was my dad doing the hula hoop and my mom doing the soccer ball heading. Those are now two images that I will never forget. After playing that for a while we played a couple of games. It was a really fun night. Oh yeah and don't forget that we had Mama Mia playing in the background. At midnight we lit of a few small fireworks and the new year started. All I can say is goodbye and good riddance 2008 you will not be missed. Hello 2009! I was thinking of some resolutions (even though I am not very good at them). I came across this quote (which I am using for my quote of the week as well. "Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing." ~Abraham Lincoln. So my resolution this year is to succeed in many things including work, being a wife and mother. I know it may take years to do this but now is better than never. I am looking forward to a new year and a better year than last. I hope that everybody has a divine 2009.

Christmas Day...

So Christmas morning we had to wake the boys up. I know it shouldn't be like that but they were totally exhausted after Christmas Eve Day. First thing that we all noticed when we walked into the living room was that Santa had brought Lantz and I a toilet! (He must have heard my cries!) The boys thought that it was so funny that he had brought us that. Dane was excited because he got a bike from Lantz and I. Our family had a great Christmas this year. Both of the boys got what they had asked for. Our family was very blessed this year. It was a great day for all of us.

After we got done opening the presents we went into Lantz's mom and dad's house to do Christmas there. They get together in the morning and do breakfast and open presents. This year because Jace turned 12 and received the priesthood he got a special present from Lantz's parents. He got a 12 gauge shotgun. He was very excited and happy to get that. It is a special present that he will remember forever. It was fun getting together with his family.

After we went to Lantz's parents we went to my parents house for lunch and so the kids could open their presents. It's always fun getting together with family.
We finished off the day watching Dark Knight.
It was great Christmas. Thank you to everyone for making such a wonderful Christmas. We love you all and are very grateful to have such a wonderful family.

T'was The Night Before Christmas....

T'was the Night Before Christmas and all through the house, not a person was stirring cause we were out and about. Doing what you may ask. Why swimming of course. As a Hansen family tradition Lantz has for the last seven years now taken the boys swimming on Christmas Eve. I have been lucky to be part of this tradition for the last two years now and for the many more to come. We have also had the privilege of having our friends and neighbors 'The Martin's' join in our tradition for two years now (and hopefully many more). This year instead of going to the Roy Complex Amy had the idea of going to the Clearfield Aquatic Center. MUCH more fun!! Thank you Amy for the suggestion. It had much more for the kids to do even the little ones like Jace and Dane :) There is a water slide, lazy river, diving boards and water jungle gym. We all had so much fun. We spent about 2 1/2 hrs there. Enough to get everybody tired. Thank you Martin family for coming with us. It was a great time.

As I said earlier stuff for the little kids...(Jace and Dane)

The boys on the water slide....

A true display of brotherly love!

Me and the boys.

Lantz and his boys!

Lantz and I and in the lazy river. Spent lots of time there not much effort involved. Hence lazy river!
So we started off Christmas Eve with a Hansen family tradition and ended the day with a Robinson family tradition. My mom's family has been doing Christmas Eve parties for as long as I can remember. We all get together on Christmas Eve and have tons of food. The funnest thing that we do is the Chinese Christmas game. It is pretty close to a white elephant exchange. The kids love it because we get to go buy some dollar gifts to use as our presents. A couple of years ago Dane got this giant pig. Ever since then he has been hooked. This year we also played some games and just had a great time. I absolutely love that we have family traditions. We stay there until about ten maybe ten thirty then head home to get the kids in bed so Santa can come. Thank you family for the fun that night.

Everybody gathered in my parents living room doing the Chinese Christmas exchange.

Dane loves jello jigglers!!!

My Family...(top my brother Shaun and his girlfriend Roni, next my cousin Madison with my dog Bella, Jace and max, and Dane and max...notice Dane has jello falling out of his mouth again)
Christmas Eve was great this year. I am very grateful that we got to spend it with our Family and Friends. Thank you all. We love you!!!
